Motherhood, Take Two

It’s been a long time since I last updated my blog. What happened? I got pregnant with my second! Just like how people are all different, so is every pregnancy.

I’ve heard it said by many moms that every pregnancy is different. I just never expected myself to be one who would experience that.

My first pregnancy was literally sunshine and rainbows. It was easy, I had no morning sickness, no nausea, no vomiting, I ate everything under the sun with much gusto, and I was highly energetic. But I wasn’t so lucky this time around. I spent most of the morning, sometimes until the late afternoon, plastered to my bed or taking trips to the bathroom to throw up. My smell and food aversions are horrible, in fact, I still have it until now (I am already 35 weeks). Not to mention, while I could while the day away peacefully sleeping during my first pregnancy, this time around I have a three year old who constantly seeks my attention. Compare to the first, I find this pregnancy difficult.

But I am so grateful for the many blessings this pregnancy has brought. For one, compared to the first, this time around was not easy to conceive. We feel so blessed to have a second baby girl on the way. And we are blessed to feel the love and support of all our family and friends who have been praying for us.

After the difficulty of the previous months, I eagerly look forward to the day I give birth and to the sleepless nights of breastfeeding that will follow.

Cheers to motherhood, take two!
