In the Potty

From the moment my little girl turned 14 months, I couldn't wait to potty train her. I was already imagining a decrease in my grocery bill because that would mean fewer diaper bags to purchase, or none at all. However, my little girl was not in a hurry to be potty trained, and I wanted to make going to the potty something that she needs to do, not a chore.

For moms who work from home or, simply put, moms who stay home to care for the kids, thinking of activities to get them through the day can be quite a feat. While putting the child in front of the TV or giving them a gadget may seem like the easiest solution, it shouldn’t be our go-to means of entertainment.

Art in the Park in Salcedo park is an event I look forward to every year. It's something I mark on my calendar and anticipate with excitement because I love art and am eager to see what the participating artists have in store. For moms with older kids, I think it's an event that the kids will enjoy and appreciate, maybe even inspire them to bring out their inner artist.
