Prepared Childbirth with Chiqui Brosas

Months before giving birth, I highly recommend taking a birthing class. There are a lot of things you can learn from books and articles, but the bulk of what my husband and I needed to know about giving birth and hospital procedures we learned from a birthing class.

There are many classes available in the metro, but we opted to take the class of Chiqui Brosas at The Parenting Emporium in New Manila back in August 2015.
Lifted from
Chiqui discussed topics like common complaints during pregnancy and what to do about them, signs and stages of labor, breathing and relaxation, pregnancy exercises, positions in labor, the role of the husband or coach, SOPs for hospital procedures for mother and newborn, and many others. She even discusses newborn care, breastfeeding, post partum, and many others related to the newborn baby. She gives you all the possible scenarios from ideal to the worst possible, which I really appreciated because it prepares you for what lies ahead.

I highly recommend this class! For moms who were not able to take a birthing class earlier in your pregnancy, this one lasts only for three weekends so there is enough time to catch up. My husband and I just had a little bit of an information overload because it is a lot to take in just three days. Otherwise, It is very informative and it addressed a lot of the questions I had about pregnancy in the third trimester, preparing and what to do in the hospital, giving birth, and caring for a newborn. Plus, Chiqui is very entertaining in her delivery so it makes for a fun class.
